Although we no longer have Miami Ink (see Whatever happened to Miami Ink?), we do have the Miami Tattoo Expo. This 3-day expo in coming to the Miami Beach Convention Center next week (January 9, 10 & 11) and will feature world renowned artists, live tattooing and piercing, choppers, vintage cars and live entertainment. Tickets are only $20/per day or $50 for the weekend pass and might be a great way to break up your weekend. Whether you are looking to add a tattoo to your collection, watch a burlesque show, participate in a multi-model body art painting session or just people watch, you now know the place to be. Want to show off your tattoos? Do you have what it takes? Why not participate in one of the many contests over the weekend? Contests will be held for both males and females in the following categories: small, large, arm sleeve, leg sleeve, Japanese, traditional, best overall and tattoo of the day.
If the expo isn’t for you, but still want to admire all of the tattoo art, why not check out the after parties all weekend long? On Friday, go the the Heathrow Lounge for the pin-up party from 11pm - 5am. On Saturday, the location is TBD and on Sunday, go to Love Hate for the ‘Miami Got Inked’ closing reception from 6-10pm. And yes, Love Hate is proudly owned by Chris Nunez and Ami James, the stars of Miami Ink.
